cheapEV Website Terms and Conditions
Last updated 06 September 2026
1.1 cheapEV is a trading style of ECO Electric Car Organisation Limited (“ECO”, “cheapEV”, “we”, “us” or “our”), registered in England and Wales under company number 12900204. Our registered office is c/o Kilsby Williams, Hazell Drive, Newport, NP10 8FY.
1.2 These terms govern your use of www.cheapev.co.uk, the cheapEV portal, vehicle browsing, calculators, indicative illustrations, enquiry forms and related online services (together, the “Platform”). They do not govern any employment variation, salary-sacrifice agreement, vehicle lease, credit, insurance or other contract issued by another party.
1.3 By using the Platform, the customer agrees to these terms. Customers who create an account or submit an enquiry confirm that the information they provide is accurate and that they are at least 18. ECO’s Privacy Notice and Cookie Notice also apply.
ECO / cheapEV
Operates the consumer brand and technology Platform; provides sales and marketing; supports participating employers with salary-sacrifice scheme setup and administration; provides separate Revenue Assurance to employers; and introduces employers to Howden for salary-sacrifice fleet insurance.
B&B
B&B Vehicle Contracts Limited is a credit broker, not a lender, and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under Firm Reference Number 656300. It is registered in England and Wales under company number 06184222, with its registered office at 5A Fairfield Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S40 4TR.
The separate partner broker. B&B takes over a quote request, prepares or obtains formal quotations, sources vehicles, deals with lenders/leasing providers and manages vehicle credit or lease contracts, delivery and vehicle lifecycle services.
Your employer
Operates or participates in the salary-sacrifice scheme; decides employee eligibility; agrees any employment-contract change; makes payroll deductions; performs National Minimum Wage and other employment checks; and applies its scheme rules.
Lender / leasing provider
Makes its own eligibility, credit and acceptance decisions and enters any lease, hire, credit or supply contract identified in the final documents.
Howden / insurer
Howden UK Brokers Limited, a company registered in England and Wales whose registered office is at One Creechurch Place, London EC3A 5AF, company registered number 02831010, is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. FCA number is 307663.
Howden arranges or introduces relevant salary-sacrifice fleet insurance. The insurer underwrites and provides the policy and deals with insured claims under its own terms.
3.1 The Platform allows you to explore electric vehicles, receive general information and indicative salary-sacrifice illustrations, and ask for a formal quotation. ECO may also help your employer establish and administer its scheme.
3.2 When you select “Get a quote” or otherwise ask to proceed, your details and chosen vehicle information are sent or made available to B&B so that B&B can contact you to prepare or obtain a formal quotation. The Platform must identify B&B at that point. B&B then acts in its own broker capacity and under its own terms and privacy notice.
3.3 ECO/cheapEV is not the vehicle seller, lender, leasing provider or vehicle credit broker and does not decide whether a lender or provider will accept you. ECO does not negotiate or enter the vehicle finance, credit or lease contract on your behalf.
3.4 B&B Vehicle Contracts Limited is a credit broker, not a lender, and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under Firm Reference Number 656300. It is registered in England and Wales under company number 06184222, with its registered office at 5A Fairfield Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S40 4TR.
4.1 Salary sacrifice is available only where your employer operates a participating scheme, approves your participation and completes the required employment and payroll documentation. Access to the Platform and an indicative illustration do not establish eligibility.
4.2 Your employer is responsible for scheme rules, payroll treatment, National Minimum Wage checks, employment-contract variations and deductions. You must review the employer’s scheme documentation, including the consequences of leaving employment, absence, family leave, changes in pay or tax, early termination, mileage and vehicle condition.
4.3 A salary-sacrifice arrangement may affect take-home pay, pension contributions, statutory benefits, borrowing assessments or other employment-related calculations. Outcomes depend on your circumstances and law and tax rates may change.
5.1 Platform figures are estimates unless a final document issued by B&B or the relevant provider says otherwise. An illustration may assume a particular term, annual mileage, maintenance package, tax band, Benefit-in-Kind rate, salary, employer contribution, VAT treatment, insurance treatment, vehicle specification and delivery date. The assumptions applying to an illustration will be displayed with, or made available alongside, that illustration.
5.2 Vehicle prices, tax, rates, specifications, images, equipment, range, charging performance, running costs, availability and lead times may change. Images may show optional equipment. Real-world range and charging vary with driving, weather, load, battery condition and charging facilities.
5.3 Nothing on the Platform is a binding offer, acceptance, guarantee of savings, tax outcome, vehicle availability, credit approval or delivery date. Only final documents accepted by all relevant parties create a contract. Read those documents carefully before committing.
6.1 ECO/cheapEV provides factual and general information and does not provide personal financial, credit, tax, legal, employment, pension or insurance advice. Platform sorting, filters or illustrations do not constitute a personal recommendation.
6.2 You should consider affordability and suitability yourself and obtain independent professional advice where appropriate. B&B, your employer, Howden, the insurer, lender and leasing provider are each responsible for any service or decision they provide.
• Provide complete, accurate and current information and correct errors promptly.
• Use the Platform only for yourself unless you have lawful authority to act for someone else.
• Read the final quotation, employer documents, insurance documents and lease or credit agreement before acceptance.
• Check that you can meet all payment, mileage, care, maintenance, charging, insurance and return obligations.
• Tell the relevant party about changes that may affect eligibility, quotation assumptions, insurance or the contract.
• Keep account credentials and verification codes secure and notify hello@electriccarorganisation.co.uk promptly of suspected misuse.
8.1 The Platform may provide functionality through which you, your employer, B&B or another authorised provider can initiate or record a driving-licence check. The feature is a tool; ECO does not warrant that a check is complete, current or sufficient for any legal, employment, insurance or fleet purpose.
8.2 You are responsible for holding a valid licence for the vehicle, supplying accurate details and promptly telling your employer, B&B, Howden/insurer and any other relevant party about endorsements, restrictions, disqualification, medical notification requirements or other material changes.
8.3 Your employer remains responsible for deciding which licence checks its scheme requires, obtaining any necessary authority, reviewing results at appropriate intervals and acting on them. Where an employee is required to initiate or authorise a check, the employee is responsible for doing so. Use of the portal does not transfer those responsibilities to ECO.
9.1 ECO may introduce a participating employer to Howden in relation to salary-sacrifice fleet insurance. Howden UK Brokers Limited (number 02831010), a company registered in England and Wales whose registered office is at One Creechurch Place, London EC3A 5AF, is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA number 307663). Howden arranges or introduces relevant salary-sacrifice fleet insurance.
9.2 Howden and the insurer act under their own terms and regulatory permissions. Cover, exclusions, eligibility, premiums, disclosure obligations, cancellation and claims are governed by the applicable Howden terms, Howden Privacy Notice and insurance policy documents. The relevant documents will be made available before the employer enters into the insurance arrangement.
10.1 ECO may separately contract with an employer to provide “Revenue Assurance”, an early-termination risk-mitigation service for the employer. It is a business-to-business service and is not sold to, paid for by or contracted with the employee under these terms.
10.2 An employee has no entitlement to payment under Revenue Assurance unless the employer’s separate contract expressly gives one. The existence of Revenue Assurance does not remove an employee’s obligations under the employer scheme or vehicle documents.
10.3 Revenue Assurance is provided subject to a separate agreement between ECO and the employer. Its availability and operation do not alter the employee’s obligations under the employer’s scheme rules, salary-sacrifice documentation or applicable vehicle agreement.
11.1 ECO may receive fees from employers, B&B, Howden or other commercial partners for operating the Platform, setting up and administering schemes, making introductions or providing related services. B&B may receive fees or commission from lenders, leasing providers or vehicle suppliers. Howden may receive remuneration in connection with insurance.
11.2 Payment of fees and other amounts
The employer pays ECO fees for setting up and administering the cheapEV scheme. Where agreed under the employer’s scheme documentation, an administration fee and other applicable scheme charges may be included in the employee’s salary-sacrifice amount. The employee does not make a separate direct payment to ECO. Any amount borne by the employee will be clearly identified in the applicable illustration, quotation or employer scheme documentation.
If the employer selects insurance-related services or Revenue Assurance, the applicable payment arrangements will be stated in the employer’s separate agreements and the relevant insurance or scheme documents. Where ECO is authorised to collect an amount for a third-party provider, ECO will settle that amount with the relevant provider. These charges may affect the overall cost of the scheme and the amounts shown in an illustration or quotation.
B&B acts as a credit broker and works with a panel of lenders and leasing providers. Amounts payable under any vehicle finance, lease or hire agreement are collected directly by the relevant lender or leasing provider in accordance with that provider’s agreement. B&B may receive a fee or commission from a lender, leasing provider or vehicle supplier. Where required, B&B will explain the existence and nature of that remuneration, whether and how it may affect the amounts payable or the service provided, and, on request, its amount or likely amount.
Howden will provide any disclosures required in relation to insurance remuneration, including the nature and source of that remuneration and whether it is paid as a fee, included within the premium or provided in another form.
Further information about ECO’s fees may be requested from ECO at hello@electriccarorganisation.co.uk
Information about B&B’s or Howden’s fees, commission or other remuneration should be requested directly from B&B or Howden using the contact details provided with the relevant quotation or insurance documents.
Any disclosure relating to B&B’s or Howden’s regulated activities will be approved by the relevant firm and presented prominently at the appropriate stage before the customer enters into the relevant agreement.
12.1 We may verify, suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, suspected misuse, legal compliance or protection of users. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access, but this does not limit statutory rights.
12.2 We may change Platform functions, content or these terms. We will give reasonable notice of material changes where practicable. A change to these Website terms does not amend an existing employer, vehicle, insurance, credit or lease contract.
• Do not use the Platform unlawfully, fraudulently or to harm another person.
• Do not submit malicious code, interfere with security, probe systems or obtain unauthorised access.
• Do not scrape, harvest, copy or commercially exploit Platform content or data except where law expressly permits.
• Do not impersonate another person, submit false information or use another person’s licence or employment details without authority.
• Do not reverse engineer the Platform except to the limited extent that law prevents restriction.
14.1 ECO or its licensors own the Platform, its software, database, design, copy and cheapEV branding. Vehicle images, names and other third-party marks belong to their owners.
14.2 We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and revocable right to use the Platform for lawful consideration and administration of a salary-sacrifice vehicle. No other rights are transferred.
B&B, employers, lenders, leasing providers, vehicle suppliers, Howden, insurers, charging providers and linked websites are independent parties. Their services are governed by their own terms. ECO is not responsible for their acts, omissions or decisions merely because the Platform links to or exchanges data with them; however, nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16.1 We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it was obvious or both parties knew it might happen when you used the Platform.
16.2 We are not responsible for loss caused by inaccurate information you supply, your employer’s decisions, B&B or another provider, changes in tax or law, or events outside our reasonable control, except to the extent the loss was caused by our breach.
16.3 The Platform is for personal use. We are not responsible for business losses. We do not exclude or limit liability where unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of statutory consumer rights.
Our Privacy Notice explains how ECO uses and shares personal data, including the hand-off to B&B, employer scheme administration, Revenue Assurance and Howden introduction. Marketing is optional.
Service messages necessary to progress an enquiry or administer an account are not marketing.
18.1 Complaints about the cheapEV Platform, ECO’s marketing, Revenue Assurance or employer scheme-administration support: hello@electriccarorganisation.co.uk, or postal complaint to Complaints, 1 Pargate Chase, Rochdale, OL11 5DZ.
18.2 Complaints about a formal vehicle quotation, broker activity, lender, lease or vehicle contract: contact B&B by post 5A Fairfield Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S40 4TR, email: sales@bandbltd.co.uk or telephone: 01246 557080.
18.3 Complaints concerning insurance should be made to Howden at complaints@howdeninsurance.co.uk. The applicable complaint procedure may depend on the capacity in which Howden acted and will be explained in the relevant policy or insurance documents. If a customer remains dissatisfied with Howden’s final response, the customer may be entitled to refer the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Further information is available at www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk. Complaints relating to personal data should be made in accordance with the applicable Privacy Notice.
19.1 If a court finds part of these terms unlawful, the remaining parts continue. Delay in enforcing a right does not waive it. No person other than you and ECO has rights under these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
19.2 These terms and any non-contractual dispute are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you retain any mandatory right to bring proceedings in your home courts.
19.3 Contact ECO about these terms at hello@electriccarorganisation.co.uk or at the registered office above.
